August Update

Martha Bohner

Our local berry season is over. If you didn't get all the blueberries you need to carry you through the year, we have fresh picked blueberries just in from our friends in Michigan. Stock up for your berry smoothies and treats!

New this season, we're adding Blackberry and Elderberry Lemonade. ‪#‎deliciousantioxidants‬

If you have questions, please ask through Facebook or call the farm.

It's easy to make your own blueberry topping: heat blueberries over low heat until the berries "melt." Add sweetener to taste, or none. Spoon over pancakes or waffles. Simple but really good, and (if you go light on the sugar) really healthy!

Microwave Blueberry Pudding Cake in a mug: If you're craving something warm, sweet and full of blueberries but you don't have much time and you don't want to make a whole dessert, make this blueberry pudding cake in a mug. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a mug, add 2 tablespoons of water, 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla, dash of salt, 3 tablespoons of sugar and 4 tablespoons of flour. Wisk together. Stir in 1/3 cup fresh or frozen blueberries. Microwave for 60 to 70 seconds and eat warm!

We smoke our own pulled pork and serve it with our Blueberry, Blackberry and Raspberry BBQ sauces. Have lunch in our farm restaurant and taste the berry difference in BBQ!

Pick up some of our BBQ sauces for your weekend cookouts. All have won ribbons in the Kansas City Royal International Barbecue Contest.
